Russia threatens Poland with nuclear weapons

Karachi News.Net
Friday 15th August, 2008

Russia has warned Poland it could be laying itself open to a nuclear strike because of its deal with the US.

The US and Poland have ageed to set up parts of a missile defence shield on Polish territory.

Col-General Anatoliy Nogovitsyn, deputy chief of the general staff has stated that the Russian military doctrine would allow for a possible nuclear strike.

He said: 'The USA is engaged in an anti-missile defence for itself and not for Poland. And Poland, in deploying the system opens itself to a military strike.'

Nogovitsyn said Russia allows nuclear weapons to be used in circumstances defined by its current security doctrine which allows for nuclear weapons to be used.

He said: 'It is written clearly. We will use it in instances against governments that have nuclear weapons; against allies of countries with nuclear weapons, if they somehow enable them.'

The Kremlin has long opposed the shield as a threat to Russia.

The ten interceptor missiles to be based at a site in northern Poland compare with Russia's own nuclear arsenal of more than 5,000 ballistic warheads.

RE: Rangzen

Rangzen; So what if Russia has 5000 nuclear warheads? It doesn’t change the fact that the US is parking their missile interceptors on Russia’s front door. — — - And good on you Putin, someone has to step up to the challenge and stop the US from trying to control the world.

Consequences of the Georgian invasion

The Russia military may have been correct in entering South Ossetia to stop ethnic violence, even though the Georgians were manipulated by an orchestrated “psych ops” campaign and small scale attacks. But why didn’t the Russian military have the wisdom to stop at defensible positions around South Ossetia? Why did the Russians use this as an opportunity to tread upon the entire western half of Georgia thus ruining their international creditability?

As for the future of the West and its relations with the Russia: 1) Excessive Russian military intervention in Georgia just elected McCain president. Look at the massive shift in poll numbers. McCain had the wisdom to see in Putin’s eyes three letters “a K, a B and a G”. 2) The Russia state just lost its near abroad. Who can blame the Ukraine and Baltic States for wanting to join NATO now? The case for a strengthened Atlantic Alliance and a united Europe excluding Russia seems overwhelming. As Benjamin Franklin said, “If we do not hang together, we shall surely hang separately.” 3) As to Western military policy, a failed preemptive attack without alliance consensus in advance. Hopefully a lesson learned. 4) Finally, for the sake of the Russians as well as their neighbors, hopefully Russia is not beginning decades of wasted effort trying to restore Empire. Vainglorious Empire is a very bad investment.

STOP RUSSIA GAZPROM RABASKA LNG FACILITY IN CANADA

August 13, 2008

This document given to global politicians, energy stakeholders, investment banks and houses etc.

There has been grievous outsized naked aggression and intimidation of the former Soviet republic and free, Democratically elected Republic of Georgia. President Dmitry Medvedev has unofficially called off all hostilities.

1) We demand the permanent full cessations of hostilities in The Georgian region.

2) We demand the unpartisan protection, safety and welfare of all civilians

3a) We demand that Canada immediately halts Rabaska Gazprom Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) facility in Quebec

3b) This facility effectively establishes a Russian Energy Beachhead in North America and in a time of crisis would endanger Central Canada and help destabilize North America.

A full LNG tanker from Russia, if it should “accidentally” explode, has been proven to have an impact of 55 Hiroshima Nuclear Bombs. The Rabaska LNG facility itself located just across from Quebec City, opposed by local citizens, would itself have the effect of heavier impact nuclear bombs.

Enbridge Inc. and their partners Gaz Metro and Gaz de France announced last month(June 2008) that the company has signed a Letter of Intent with Gazprom Marketing & Trading USA, Inc., which outlines the terms under which Gazprom will become an equity partner in the proposed Rabaska liquefied natural gas (LNG) regasification project.

Under the agreement Gazprom has agreed to supply 500 million cubic feet per day to the $840-million terminal east of Quebec City.

The Rabaska terminal is expected to introduce a new source of natural gas supply to the Quebec and eastern Ontario markets.

“The Rabaska LNG project will deliver the critical infrastructure needed to bring an important new source of natural gas supply to Ontario and Quebec," said Stephen J.J. Letwin, executive vice president, gas transportation and international for Enbridge.

“This new supply will benefit the two provinces' growing number of natural gas consumers, many of whom are customers of Enbridge Gas Distribution, as well as support Ontario’s increasing emphasis on natural gas to fuel environmentally responsible power generation. Gazprom’s involvement in the Rabaska LNG project gives strong momentum to advancing this project and meeting those needs."

Using the Rabaska terminal, Gazprom, which is a subsidiary of OAO Gazprom, expects to import Russian LNG supplied from the Shtokman liquefaction project.

The Shtokman gas and condensate field, discovered in 1988, is located in the central part of the Barents Sea, about 450 kilometers northeast of the city of Murmansk, Russia.

Mr. Medvedev, born in 1965, is a lawyer and former law professor who worked in politics and business in St. Petersburg after the collapse of the Soviet Union, bringing him into close contact with Mr. Putin and the other reformers in that city’s government. He followed Mr. Putin to Moscow in 1999 and, despite his relative youth, rose influence and prominence. In 2000, Mr. Medvedev became chairman of Gazprom, the energy giant, which has increasingly become a wealthy corporation and instrument of Kremlin foreign and domestic policy.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin flew from Beijing just north of South Ossetia to meet with Russian generals – like Julius Caesar at the Rubicon – (CAESER NON SUPRA LOGOS GRAMMATICOS) – yet the Russian Constitution states that President Dmitry Medvedev is Commander in Chief.

To be fair, the Republican Bush-McCain administration has been stoking and provoking this crisis by insisting on Georgia’s inclusion in the Cold War NATO alliance, even against the advice of its European allies.

Senator John McCain’s top foreign policy advisor Randall Scheunemann, as pointed out by Governor Bill Richardson (New Mexico) has professionally lobbied for Georgia’s inclusion into NATO. Senator McCain himself as chairman of the International Republican Institute has long sought for inclusion of Georgia into NATO.

The Republican Bush-McCain administration has also long sought and are imminently attempting to implement “Missile Shield” in former Eastern Bloc countries notably Poland and Czech Republic - Remember the Cuban 1962 October Missile Crisis? No Redux.

You really sound tough mate. I’m sure everyone looks up to you. However it’s a pity your poor little ego needs to express itself this way because it feels inadequate.

10 missiles on Polish soil, compared to 5000 in Russia? C’mon Russia, wtf are you afraid of?

It’s amazing how many idiots in society can’t learn from history’s past mistakes.
What a sad, sad world.

East Europe Tries To Protect Itself From Russia
Aug. 16, 2008 - Eastern European Countries Fear An Emboldened Russia, Scramble To Shore Up Security

]
Poland strikes a deal on a U.S. missile defense base. Ukraine tries to limit the Russian navy’s movement in its waters. The Czech Republic’s leader warns his nation is in danger of being sucked back into Moscow’s orbit. Russia’s attack on Georgia has sparked fears across the young democracies of Eastern Europe that Moscow is once again hungry for conquest _ and they are scrambling to protect themselves by tightening security alliances with Western powers. On Friday, Moscow sent a new jolt through the region when a top Russian general was quoted as saying that the missile defense deal signed the previous day by Washington and Warsaw exposes Poland to an attack.

“Poland, by deploying (the system) is exposing itself to a strike _ 100 percent," Gen. Anatoly Nogovitsyn said, according to Interfax News Agency. Around the region, memories are being revived of the darkest days of Soviet oppression. In Prague, where Czechs on Wednesday will mark the 40th anniversary of the Soviet invasion that crushed a reform movement, Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek expressed fears of history repeating itself.

“The Russian tanks on the streets of Georgian towns remind us ... of the invasion in 1968," Topolanek wrote in Mlada Fronta Dnes daily, the country’s biggest newspaper. “But it is not just history. It is still, even now, a relevant question whether we will or will not belong to the sphere of Russian influence." He appealed to his political opponents to support his unpopular plan to host a U.S. missile defense shield. Since fighting broke out more than a week ago between Russia and Georgia, the crisis has dominated headlines and sparked pro-Georgia rallies across Eastern Europe.

Double standards

England controls America, when England says jump America says how high.Remember the first world war,England fighting for the rights of Belgium a small nation while they dictated what America did, were dictators of Pakistan India Burma the most of Asia, the most of Africa were in charge of Canada Australia boasted that the Sun never set on their empire. Tried to wipe out the Irish by famine in 1845 while their country had a food surplus.Created Kuwait so that they could control the Arab oil.If an English person told you that a white wall was white, beware for they are the masters of double standards.
